Apron Giveaway

If you like aprons, you'll want to hop on over to the Apronista and sign up for her apron giveaway. I've become more interested in aprons lately because it seems I can't cook w/o getting grease spots on my shirts and then they get washed and then have to be rewashed because I didn't notice the spot the first time....I could go on and on, but I won't - just go and sign up! The apron she's giving away is very cute and perfect for summer!

I know what you mean about grease/oil spots. I invariably find them when I am quickly trying to change into nicer/cleaner clothes when I have to go somewhere.

How do you get yours out? I typically use Zout for first-time-around stains, but that doesn't seem to work for set-in grease stains. Instead, I make a paste out of Oxyclean and let it sit for a while. If you have an easier idea, LMK.

I didn't see the Apron Giveaway until today, after the deadline, so I was bummed. I LOVE patriotic table linens, etc., even though I only window-shop for them. I hope you win! :)

God bless,
Lori.

Hey Lori -

That's usually when I find them too! Ack! I just put liquid detergent on the spot (enough to cover/soak into the spot) and set it aside until the next load (which usually is at LEAST the next day, sometimes 2 days later....just depends) and then toss it in the load as usual. This has been working - hooray. I recently bought a big tub of powder detergent though and had to go to plan B, which was to look for some sort of stain treatment gel or some such - I happened upon Shout Grease Stain Remover Spray - that may not be the exact name (I will get it if you want to know) and you spray that on the spot, wait a few mn. and then toss it directly in the load - seems to be working also....hope that helps!

Sorry you missed entering the apron giveaway - soooo many people have entered that I doubt I'll win, but you never know, someone has to, right?
