I don't know what it is, but there have been a few days lately when I've just felt exhausted. Today, I can understand. CKB preached in Waco yesterday so it was a longer day with the travel. Easier than the Madisonville trip, but still time in the car.
This morning was filled with errands - oil change for the van, dry cleaning to drop off, cleaning out the van, meeting the realtor to see a house, stopping at Michael's for a new rotary cutter (and you wondered why I hadn't put up any progress on the quilt!), and a quick trip in Wallyworld for a few things - whew!
I *do* have all the fabric I've purchased so far washed and ironed, neatly folded and draped over the sewing machine...waiting. Soon...soon....soon...I hope to get to it.
Until then....

I have stacks of fabric and a sewing machine waiting and I am not pregnant. The machine keeps calling me but I've turned a deaf ear, for now, anyway. Maybe we need to have a contest to see which one of us gets started first. ha.
Hmmm, is that a challenge? ;)
You'd win since you go to a quilting bee every week!
You are prepared, and that's the main thing! It's good to be prepared before one begins, right? :-) And, hey, I sure do remember those days of exhaustion when pregnant! PLUS you have little ones still at home...and homeschool, to boot! I'd say there's plenty of reason for not starting yet!!!!!
By the way, the Quilt Bee is once a month, though we'd adore it if it was once a week, believe me! And what Mom doesn't say is that she is busily hand-quilting a full-sized quilt when we're in the livingroom in the evenings watching some TV! It's a daunting project, and she has been at it for months, but doing a beautiful job! Had to brag on her a bit. :-)
Thanks, tile lady. dau marie...
Yes, that quilt is never-ending. I thought when I quilted the last one I would not handquilt anymore. But, here I am at it. I do enjoy the hand quilting process but the old hands aren't what they used to be.
I manage to get a couple of squares sewn for the next quilt bee each month and that's about all the sewing I do. Need to get motivated. But, it's a challenge to take care of everything including my husband. All the things he used to do... like running to the store, paying our taxes, getting our car tags, planting flowers and pruning etc. Taking care of the car maintenence. The list goes on and on. I never appreciated all that he did do for us. And, now, I am doing it all. At least son in law does the grass cutting.
I imagine in some ways it's like your days of military life when your husband was away and everything fell to you. My mom was a military wife also - Coast Guard - and I can only imagine how hard those days, weeks, months were when my Dad was gone and she was left to care for everything and the 3 of us children. My prayers continue for our Lord's strength upon you and a continuance of good news w/your husband's new medication!
(in response to the comment you left on my blog) I think your pinks being the focus idea is a good one... I'm actually second guessing my color choices for my baby's blanket, (too late now!) I think the green took on too big of a roll, and wish I'd only used it in the binding and maybe as an accent...
I like your color choices a lot... the brown is very subtle and understated. I can't wait to see it finished!
