Back to the drawing board - darker greens for Mr. A's quilt

Well, I am just not feeling it w/those green fat quarters I picked up last week. I keep envisioning them with pinks and that certainly won't work for MISTER A, now will it? I think I need darker greens for him and am considering giving this group of darker greens I found online a try -

Maybe I'll be "happy" with this assortment :) and it'll save me a little time in going to my local quilt shop and picking out a variety on my own.

Also, I'm thinking about a stacked coin quilt....like this or maybe a rail fence or some variation thereof....we'll see.

.still thinking.....

You are learning so much about quilting. I hope that you can find some greens that you really like soon. Dark greens do seem more manly somehow, don't they?

I think I'll vote for these greens. I really liked the first ones but I think even though these are floral they will follow him into adulthood easier. How big do you plan to make it? Sounds fun. You should start an old fashioned quilting circle.

That'd mean I'd have to know some other quilters :)

I'll probably not use any of the fabrics that are terribly floral, leaves are ok, but no actual flowers. I'm thinking lap quilt size, not baby quilt for the rest of the children.

I showed the greens to Mr. A and started with one fabric asking him if he liked it or not, he liked them all, then got tired of looking at them :) I'm sure he'll be happy as long as there's green in it!

I Enjoyed looking at your girls quilt work. For Mr. A's quilt I like the rails much better than the stacked coins. The rail quilt will look stunning with the green assortment. What a treasure.
