Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day yesterday. In years past we have visited a state park for a picnic, but this year we decided to stay home and grill instead. We started the day with a quick trip down to Krispy Kreme for a sugar-laden breakfast - the children were thrilled w/their red/white/blue sprinkle donuts :)

We spent the rest of the day relaxing around the house, playing outside and enjoying some yummy grilled hot dogs for lunch.

Here's our traditional family pic complete w/our flag shirts for this year (we went with the ones from Wal-mart this year instead of the Old Navy flag shirts for a couple of reasons - 1. Last time I drove past Old Navy they didn't have them yet and I couldn't wait forever and 2. Wal-mart beat them on price in a major way - instead of $5 a pop at Old Navy (total of $30 for our family of 6), we got all the shirts for $16 (children's were $2.50 and adult shirts were $3 - nice).

Anyway, Happy Memorial Day!

(can you tell it was a bright, sunshiney day?)
